THE MOTHER FUCKER OF THE HAT
Music composed for solo electric guitar, with Moog delay, bow and baton.
The music for the play earned Carlos a NOMINATION FOR THE 2024 ACPT AWARDS in the category of BEST ORIGINAL MUSIC.
For director Daniel Giménez Cacho as well as for Carlos Mier, it was very important that the music was performed live, on stage, and that the music was raw and real (like the characters). The electric guitar was conceived as a percussion instrument, which would generate atmospheres without interrupting the dialogue and which would transmit the feeling without leading the audience. The music was performed live on stage by Carlos Mier during the season. This was essential for the music to feel alive and as a reaction to/from the characters.

ARDER
Music composed for acoustic nylon guitar and sampler.
The music was composed with samples of the machinery and sounds produced by the work of a textile factory in the 1920s. The nylon guitar gives us nostalgia and the samples give us the surreal fact of the terrible working conditions under which the women worked ( and still work) in the 20(24)s.
