THE LAND OF SILENCE
Music composed for string quartet, nylon guitar, electric guitar, Rhodes piano and for the bodies of acoustic instruments as percussion.
The film takes place in a ghost town from which all its inhabitants have left except for two: father and son. The music sounds as if it came from this town, from its old woods and walls, from abandoned instruments, from memories, from loneliness. In contrast, the electronic elements of the music announce the presence of new life in La Estancia.

LA VOZ DEL SILENCIO
Music composed in collaboration with Pedro Mantecón. It was composed with common and everyday objects, as well as with sounds of everyday actions that one would find or hear inside the houses of Mexico City. These objects and actions were recorded and then played on a sampler.
The documentary narrates the events of the earthquake of September 19, 2017 that shook Mexico City. Objects and actions represent what was fallen and what was lost. The music created from them and through the sampler represents hope and the new to be born.

The instrument only represents the loneliness that "Jilote" experiences when leaving his family in search of a new life. The baby of a maguey (Jilote) only blooms once, and then dies.

The composition for all instruments was first performed and recorded and then played and altered using a sampler. The latter metaphorically represents the fragments of the main character's memory.
